I am Mother Jordania, Missionary of Jesus the Word and Victim. In the year 2017-2019 I had the honour of working in the Patmos of Kañaris, a distant village belonging to the diocese of Chiclayo-Peru. It was there that I met the then Bishop Robert Francis Prevost, the current Pope Leo XIV.

On one occasion we invited him to the parish where we work. He arrived accompanied by another priest. We shared lunch and he was always humble and cheerful. He was a true father, listening to us so simply.

On another occasion, he visited us, he came to administer the sacraments. We, as missionaries, had reached the most difficult places in our parish, and it was there that our Holy Father Leo XIV accompanied us. We admired his missionary spirit, because he did not have any problems, but as the Good Shepherd, he knew how to reach these most abandoned souls without sparing any sacrifice. Monsignor Robert was just getting to know us, he saw our work and said to us something like “You are brave missionaries, because you try to reach all souls, even those who are behind the hills”. Then Monsignor Robert returned to his headquarters in Chiclayo. He was happy to have reached these souls thirsty for God.
